Important: Huginn & Muninn ICT has not been established yet. Please read the info on the 'Home' page first.
Whether it will actually be established depends on the reactions to the call on the home page and other circumstances.

Addition: At the moment I'm considering changing the concept of Huginn & Muninn to a network/database of ICT volunteers for small to medium sized non-profit organizations. In that case most of the current info on this site won't apply anymore. But I'd still like to receive reactions.

Huginn & Muninn ICT : Non-Profit ICT

Introduction

lumaxart_green_holding_hands_earth2Huginn & Muninn ICT is intended to be a non-profit ICT organization with two goals:

  1. Providing affordable computer and internet services to small and medium sized non-profit organizations, mainly, but not necessary exclusively in areas like sustainable living, eco-living, environment, alternative health care, natural food, human dignity, human rights, spiritual development and so on.
  2. Providing ICT professionals and other relevantly skilled individuals, who would like to work in these areas, with an opportunity to do so, either as volunteers or (in the future) possibly in a paid position with a reasonable but modest salary. We'll offer them a virtually non-hierarchical working environment with emphasis on mutual respect, healthy working conditions and friendship.

The intention is to be operational somewhere during 2012. Whether this is possible will depend on the amount of interest from potential client organizations and co-workers.

Huginn & Muninn ICT is based in Western-Europe. Customers could potentially be based anywhere on the world as most contact will take place over the internet. On-location work/support will only be provided within a reasonable travelling distance from one of our co-workers.

Call for interested organizations and individuals to contact us.

At this point, we're in the stage where we try to find out if this is a viable initiative. Therefore we're calling upon both organizations which might be interested in using our services in the future, and people who would like to help and work with us to contact us and express their interest.

With regards to people to work with us, we're for example looking for webdesigners, graphics designers, web developers (php), linux programmers (C/C++/Python etc.) but also for people who can help with administrative work like bookkeeping and establishing the organization itself.

Apart from people who would like to work with us once we're operational, we also need a few people who want to help out right away. There are two reasons for this:

  1. We need to get the organization off the ground and this requires a lot of work to be done. At the moment 'we' is just one person.
  2. We're already accepting some jobs in return for future donations, in order to get funding to get us of the ground. We need help with these specific projects.

Please be aware that for the time being, all work is on a volunteer basis. It's not possible to pay anyone at this stage.

The kind of services we (will) provide.

CollaborationAlthough we can (and will) perform all kinds of services our main focus is:

  • Collaboration Solutions: Providing solutions for people within organizations to cooperate with each other either within an office or remotely over the internet or both. This can encompass a lot of services like a public or private collaborative website, a file server, a secure private network via the internet and much more.
  • Building Communities: Building small to medium sized internet communities for organizations. These communities could for example contain a forum, offers/wants sections, blogs, photo galleries, project presentations, support functionality, knowledgebases and, again, much more.

Apart from this we also provide other services, like support & maintenance, webdesign and more. You can always contact us if you would like to know whether we can provide a specific service.
